Sunday Photo Fiction 4-29-2017

Each week a photo is used, donated by one of the participants of Sunday Photo Fiction, and the idea is to write a story with the photo as a prompt in around 200 words.

“I like the way you match the colors.”

“Green on green on green. Great isn’t it?”

“Not great, but it does have symmetry what with the red and pink behind. It looks real. Like a photograph.”

“I know.”

“Wish I could paint as well.”

“It’s not hard.”

“Could you teach me?”

“Maybe. Possibly. No, probably not.”

“Uh, thanks for the vote of confidence?”

“Glad to help.”

“Why did I even come to your fricking opening?”

“Why, to worship.”

Worship?

“Who?”

“Need you ask? Me. The greatest since Van Gogh.”

“How nice for you.”

“Yes, isn’t it.”

“I get why we are no longer friends.”

“Really? Because I left you with your paint-by-numbers while I soar?”

What did I ever see in him? For sure, I don’t see it anymore.

Time to go home. Highway Thu Hell is on at nine.

  1. I like that. The narcissist will see why he has no friends when he is no longer famous, and people no longer like his work.

Remember who you tread on on the way up. These are the people you need to catch you on the way down.

  2. Too bad the ‘painter’ couldn’t find nice things to say about the friend who lost a piece of their he’art’.
(Thanks for stopping by my piece in April – I’ve been busy but am ever so slowly catching up to visits.)
