Inside
And so he crawled in,
My legs spread like a sprawling giraffe.
I am in you.
I am in you.
Like clouds on the sun,
Shadows pretending rain.
He crawled out,
Walked away without
A word of
Goodbye.
Heard
Wind rustles fallen leaves;
Frosted air promising snow.
Darkness comes early.
Well, I was one over on line one and one less on line three so I figure I came out even:)
“But it turns out Joy is a house built from the same bricks as Sorrow. Pleasure is a poem, and it uses the same words as Pain.”
― Julio Alexi Genao, Taking the Long Way Home
Mirrors reflect lies unspoken.
We speak not of unbearable things.
Hope lies in forgotten corners.
We run circles instead of
just letting go.
Darkness like silk lies
Down in the depth of my soul.
Never come home again.
There are layers in our lives
Which we need to peel back
In order to reveal our own truth.
My truth is not yours,
Nor will it be,
My truth is caught in the deepness of me,
Bubbling and boiling and longing to be free.

Catching up on some missed Daily Post One Word Prompts. I was going for a haiku, but the poem didn’t want to go that way:) So, hey, it’s just a three line poem!
Flames burn careless souls
Like words burn foolish hearts.
Endless pain of belonging.
